These are the words that convinced this group of hard-working NYC lads to ditch their everythings and have it out across one third of the world. We’re still not fully sure why. But if you’ve made it to this page, then welcome to our adventure. Buckle up.

THE ROUTE

The Mongol Rally is no guided tour. The premise is simple: obtain a crappy car (1L or smaller or engine) and drive from the UK to Mongolia in whatever way possible. There will be hiccups, but there lies the fun. We covered 18 countries in 8 crazy weeks.

Cool Earth & Nowhere Men

COOL EARTH

Cool Earth works alongside indigenous villages to halt rainforest destruction. It is the official charity of the Mongol Rally and a minimum of 500 GBP of our donations will go here.

Over the last 40 years, half the world’s rainforests have been destroyed. That’s why Cool Earth decided to go about things differently. They don’t create reserves or put up fences. They don’t buy land. Instead, they put indigenous people back in control of the world’s most endangered rainforest. Cool Earth is now working alongside 65 rainforest villages throughout the world. These partner villages are protecting over 350,000 acres of forest that lie directly in the path of chainsaws and bulldozers.

As The Adventurists declare: “We must save every rainforest so that future generations have somewhere to get stuck.”

THE RESULT

In September 2014, the Nowhere Men rolled into Mongolia. With only 1 functional door, no functional windows, and two completely flat tires, we pulled into Ulan Bataar after 10,000+ miles of hardcore roughing it. The shit-eating grins on our faces summed up the countless highs and lows and everything in between we experienced on the Rally. To anyone who helped us on the way, thank you. We couldn’t have done it without the amazing strangers we met along our journey.
